Quadient (Euronext Paris: QDT), a leader in helping businesses create meaningful customer connections through digital and physical channels and a major global parcel locker operator, announced today that Wakeland Housing & Development Corporation, a leading affordable housing developer in California, has installed Parcel Pending by Quadient smart locker systems in six of its locations in San Diego County. The smart lockers provide Wakeland’s residents with a safe and secure way to conveniently retrieve their package deliveries, focusing on critical prescription medications.
The nonprofit organization initially installed Parcel Pending by Quadient locker systems at one of its largest housing communities in downtown San Diego. It was a welcome addition for both residents and the community team, which saw the immediate benefit of eliminating the time and frustration involved in tracking down packages. Since then, Wakeland installed smart lockers at five other properties to provide residents easy access to their packages that are delivered to the secure lockers.
“Our top reasons for having the smart locker systems are security and peace of mind, ensuring incoming packages are kept safe for residents,” said Elaine Camuso, Wakeland’s director of communications. “Many of our residents deal with chronic illnesses and they needed a safe way to get their prescription medications that are necessary for their health and wellness. Additionally, we take pride in having well-maintained communities where anyone would want to live. This system helps us eliminate the clutter of packages piled up in the lobby or on doorsteps and ensures our residents get their important packages. The Parcel Pending by Quadient smart locker systems have been an excellent solution for alleviating these concerns.”
Located in the lobbies of Wakeland’s residential buildings, the lockers provide convenience but, more importantly, ADA-compliant accessibility for residents who need them. Residents retrieve packages using a one-time PIN or barcode provided via email, text message or in-app mobile notification. Recipients also receive delivery alerts, manage packages and retrieve deliveries contact-free via a mobile app.
“We are honored that Wakeland has chosen our locker systems to support their communities and provide a sense of peace and security to its residents,” said Gerry Casey, executive vice president, Sales & Operations for North America, Quadient. “Having the ability to track deliveries, provide 24/7 access to packages, and deliver a high-quality customer experience are just three of the many benefits Quadient’s parcel locker solutions deliver.”
Quadient has more than 16,300 parcel locker stations installed worldwide in the multifamily property, retail, higher education, corporate and courier segments.
